The hardness of a mineral is its resistance to being scratched. The relative hardness of a mineral is determined by comparing it to the hardness of the ten "standard" minerals that make up Moh's Scale of Hardness.This collection contains one specimen of each of the ten minerals.
- Each specimen is approximately 1.5 x 1.5" in size and keyed for identification
- The key also includes useful information regarding the rocks composition, structure, texture and formation
